Total surface disinfection without manual labour, chemicals or water

Due to increasingly higher hygiene demands in the food processing industry etc., the use of UV-C light to eliminate microorganisms e.g. bacteria, fungi, and viruses, is becoming more and more commonly used.

JIMCO is specialized in the elimination of microorganisms and odors. Jimco’s UV-C & Ozone technology is a unique solution for complete disinfection of surface in production areas.

The fact that it is now possible to automatically disinfect surface, which normally requires manual treatment, brings a large number of benefits for the business economy, the environment and the working environment.

Jimco’s air handling unit, the FLO-D, is an efficient and environmentally friendly way to disinfect production areas. This unique technology converts air into clean ozone by means of UV-C lamps, so O2 becomes O3.

Depending on the calculated UV-C dosage, a kill rate of 99.9% of all microorganisms may be achieved.

Together with the PLC-control, special UV-C sensors developed by JIMCO A/S, ozone levels are monitored and assessed for efficacy. This is a data driven system and the information provided by the system will indicate immediate levels of hygiene.

Why choose automatic disinfection

  • Achieve a more effective disinfection , all surface incl: conveyor belts, ventilation systems, cooling units and all open surfaces
  • Effective on all microorganisms including Listeria, E.coli, Salmonella as well as yeast, mold and viruses
  • More efficient in hard-to-reach areas
  • Save thousands of litres of water
  • Avoid toxic chemicals
  • No storage of hazardous materials – ozone is produced on site
  • No toxic residues – ozone naturally turns back to oxygen
  • Avoid time-consuming manual disinfection
  • Reduce ethylene levels and extend the shelf-life of fruit and vegetables
  • Combat and eliminate noxious odours
  • Reduce labour cost
  • Minimum power consumption required
  • Eliminate costly maintenance and operational downtime
  • Mobile and easy to move around to different parts of the factory
  • Low cost of operation
  • No downtime after treatment

FAQ

Is ozone dangerous to humans?

Ozone can be dangerous but it is safe when used properly. Low levels of ozone are all around us and are safe to breathe. Overly high ozone exposure in an occupied room is not recommended. We use the right amount of ozone in our systems. It is very important for our units to control the ozone level since we care for health and safety.

Can I stay in a room that is being treated with ozone?

It is important to stress, that ozone is an important part of our nature and that people cannot survive without this kind of gas. However, you must also be aware that ozone is an oxidizing agent and therefore it should be used with care.

For 25 years JIMCO as developed machines producing the most environmentally friendly form of ozone. The technique is based on UV-light that is developed from the ozone-producing rays of the sun. This means that only clean ozone is produced and not the form of ozone produced in high-voltage-production units such as Xerox machines, welding units etc., where dangerous Nitric Oxide (NOX) is produced besides ozone.

Is UV-C light dangerous to humans?

Yes, direct exposure to UV-C light is dangerous, it can cause rapid sunburn and skin cancer. Exposure of the eyes to this UV radiation can produce extremely painful inflammation of the cornea and temporary or permanent vision impairment, up to and including blindness in some cases.

It’s so important that UV-C light is shielded and protected by special equipment, and that’s exactly what JIMCO does with all the systems using UV-C light. Safety is the highest priority.

How does JIMCO system affect the environment?

All JIMCO systems are environmentally friendly, the leftover of all processes have been tested and proved that they are not dangerous for example, having used KPC and Industry solutions of the company (oxidation) the end product is mainly CO2 and water together with a small amount of polymerized grease, which leaves the extract system as dust, and what comes out of the compact cleaner is mainly sterilized air and ozone.

Is JIMCO’s technology environmentally friendly?

Yes, all JIMCO products are environmentally friendly, Over the years, JIMCO A/S has been awarded a number of prizes for its products – including the EU’s environmental award, the environmental award of the Region of Funen “Fyns Amts Miljøpris” which are really good proofs for company’s environmentally friendliness.

Can FLO-D technology remove Listeria and similar bacterias?

Yes FLO-D has great successes with killing Listeria.

Listeria is one of the most resistant and strongest bacterias so when it has been eliminated, other similar bacterias wouldn’t stand a chance of survival.

Choosing the right disinfectant for Dentists

We know Dentists have to make a lot of choices. During each procedure they choose the equipment, tools and the right products to use. Long before this, they choose what products to keep on hand for all possible scenarios. More choices are made for cleaning, sterilising and disinfection. While we can’t take away all these […]
